Client Spotlight: Broadside Lawyers
I've been excitedly (and not so patiently) waiting to share my recent branding project for the newly launched Broadside Lawyers, a Commercial Law Firm. This project required a complete identity design from the ground up and a unique approach in a traditionally conservative space.
After conducting extensive research into the branding of other legal firms in Melbourne and Australia-wide, it was evident that there is heavy stagnation in brand evolution in the legal community. From dated colours and fonts to illegible icons and text and an overall stuffiness akin to the musty smell of old library books, many websites haven't even evolved with the rollout of digital technology. I can see so many opportunities being missed.
The enthusiasm from the partners at Broadside Lawyers was so refreshing. They delivered a clear and concise brief yet with room to explore creativity. We introduced a modern colour pallet of navy and rose, accenting the asymmetric logo with its timeless Helvetica typeface. The result is a defined brand that establishes their innovative and disruptive approach.
To complement the roll-out of the new brand, a full personal branding suite of images was shot by yours truly to elevate the partners and team and enhance their digital representation. These are some of my favourite personal brand images to date; elegant and confident, the perfect compliment to their new brand.
To finalise stage one of the brand roll-out, was the custom build of an elegant, sophisticated, information-rich website which challenged me to look at traditional layouts and look for new opportunities to showcase the brand that still resulted in commercial and professional execution.
I love immersive projects like this which allow me to evolve and adapt a brand in a traditionally conservative space. The end result makes me incredibly proud and I am grateful for the trust Monique Milic, Wojtek Randla, Tom Carroll and Justin Burghardt bestowed on me to bring this project to life.
